What is Vegas Tejano Music Week 2018?
Vegas Tejano Music Week 2018 is an annual convergence of Tejano music fans, artists and music industry to celebrate the genre’s historical significance and future growth. The week highlights include the 15th Annual Tejano Music Convention, SqueezeBox, Zavala’s Vegas Vibe Puro Pool Party, TexMex Funk FanFest & Expo and more.

How Does Vegas Tejano Music Week 2018 Handle Artist Changes? What Happens If My Favorite Artist Cancels?
All Vegas Tejano Week artists are subject to change. As producers of this event for the past 14 years we make every effort to deliver what it is advertised; however we have had a few instances where talent has passed away or chose not to honor their contract or electronic agreements. Vegas Tejano Music Week is about the shared experience and gathering of more than 300 musicians. We encourage fans to base their attendance on the overall talent performances, event highlights and attractions versus one individual artist.

Is the convention registration fee different if I pre-register than the registration price if I wait to register onsite in Las Vegas?
Yes – the difference is a nominal Onsite Registration fee of $25.00 (per transaction) if you decide to wait until August 25 and 26 to register.

Is the Thursday, Aug. 23 and Sunday, Aug. 26 events for the Vegas Tejano Music Week included in the registration fee?
No – they are separate Vegas Tejano Music Week events with separate fees.

I have a schedule conflict and will not be able to attend the Convention and already registered. Can I get my money back?
No – all registration sales are final and there are no refunds. You are able to transfer your registration to someone else no later than August 1, 2018 however, the request must be made in writing and emailed to schavez@weareingenuity.com

Can I bring my own outside drinks to any of the Vegas Tejano Music Week Events (including Convention EXPO and dance)?
No – you may not bring outside beverages into the official events of Vegas Tejano Music Week 2018. All official events (day and evening) will have food and beverages available to purchase at the event.

NO ICE CHESTS OR COOLERS ALLOWED.
COLD BEVERAGE CARRIERS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

Does the Tejano Convention and EXPO tradeshow registration include the hotel room at the RIO?
No – you must register for your hotel accommodations separately – please see the HOTEL page for special RIO $99 room rates.

Are there senior, military, or special discounts?
No – all Vegas Tejano Music Week events make a strong effort to offer competitive pricing comparable or lower than other Las Vegas shows, conventions and tradeshows offerings and pricing.

Where Can I Dance?
The 15th Annual Tejano Music Convention has two major events, Friday and Saturday evening both include dancing. In addition there is Tejano dance instruction at the expo each day. SqueezeBox and Zavala’s Vegas Vibe Puro Pool Party have limited dance room.

Can I register for one day or is it a requirement to register for the entire weekend?
Yes – you can register for one day – Friday or Saturday or both. See the Registration page for Convention and EXPO tradeshow registration pricing information.

Can I pay for my convention and EXPO tradeshow registration with a personal check?
Personal checks are accepted but must be mailed by August 1, 2018.

Can I register online and pay with a credit card?
Credit card payments are accepted for the Convention and EXPO tradeshow registrations via telephone. American Express, Visa, Master Card and Discover are accepted. Phone registrations are accepted until August 15, 2018 by calling direct at (913)397-8850. After August 15, 2018 you must register onsite at the Tejano Convention Registration Desk at the RIO in Las Vegas. Online Convention and EXPO tradeshow registrations are not available.

I have called and left a message, what should I do if I don’t receive a call back?
We make every effort to check messages and return all calls daily. During high volume times the mailbox may become full – we ask that you email us at schavez@weareingenuity.com or call again. Some reasons that calls are not returned include: speaking too fast, not leaving a name, not leaving a full phone number or calling from a mobile phone with technical difficulties.

I purchased a table and it is not placed in the location like the diagram shows?
The diagram is a general guide of how tables will be placed. Due to Fire Marshall and venue logistical requirements there may be some final shifting. It is our goal to get as close as possible to duplicating the floor chart within 30 feet. If a table is beyond the 30 feet allowance we will try to accommodate guests onsite (no refunds). Please notify the registration desk
or staff member as soon as possible no later than 8:00pm on show date.

What is the difference between registrations and tickets?
Your convention and EXPO tradeshow registration is your “entrance ” into the Tejano Music National Convention and it’s activities. It gives you access to the TexMex Funk FanFest & Expo, Shelly’s Showcase, David Farias Conjuntazzo, Showtime Karaoke with Javier Molina Workshops, Tejano Dance Instruction and the Dances.

Are tickets mailed to me?
No – we do not have tickets but instead have Convention registrations. All Convention and EXPO tradeshow registrants will receive confirmations via email or USPS mail. To receive your registration credentials you must provide picture identification (driver’s license) at the Convention registration desk from Aug. 23-25. All registrants receive a printed credential card with their picture on it, as to be identified as authorized convention registrants. Do not lose or disgard this credential until the event has completely ended. Replacement fee for wristband is the same cost to register.

Can I wait to register when I get to Las Vegas or will the Convention “sell out”?
Yes – you can register on-site at the Convention at an additional $25.00 per transaction. Traditionally registrants who desire a choice table and preferred seating will register early (VIP seating is limited). The seating is limited and we will not register beyond the capacity of the hotel space available to maintain the safety of everyone.

SqueezeBox and Zavala’s Vegas Vibe Puro Pool Party are more exclusive events, limited to 400 people each. We recommend purchasing attendance to these two events in advance as its likely to be sold out onsite.

Do I have to purchase/register for a table of ten?
No – you are not required to purchase a complete table of ten. We welcome registrations of one, two, three – no matter how many are in your party. For groups less than ten seating is assigned by convention staff to complete a table of ten.

If I must cancel my registration – what is your refund policy?
All convention and EXPO tradeshow registrations are final and NO REFUNDS will be issued.

What is the difference between VIP Registrations and Standard Registration?
The dance floor is the centerpiece of the event and therefore the closer to the dance floor the greater the value. VIP Registrations are the first and second rows of tables around the dance floor perimeter. The Standard Registration tables are the remaining tables and encompasses the majority of registration tables.

Registration Credentials; New in 2018!
Convention and EXPO tradeshow registration event credentials are the only way to identify those who have registered. If you do not have this to identify that you are registered Event Security will NOT allow you entrance. This year, we will have a different registration process in place in Las Vegas starting with every person getting their picture taken as you check-in at registration. We will have more security measures in place for the safety of all patrons. You will not have to be in an alphabetical line as anyone will be able to help you at the RIO ROTUNDA LOBBY. Replacement: Go to the Registration desk to have a photo credential reissued with your photo I.D. (driver’s license) and a $15, reautorization fee will be assessed for lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed photo credentials.

How do I know what table I am assigned to and where my seats are?
There are four resources to help you locate your seat:
1. Confirmation document includes the table number.
2. Event credential includes the table number printed on it.
3. Event staff will be available at registration entrances to help direct you to your table.
4. Seating chart can be downloaded and printed for easy reference.

Do I have an assigned chair?
No – there is “first-come, first-served” seating at your assigned table and you may choose any of the available seats once you locate your assigned table. Event management respectfully requests that convention and EXPO tradeshow registrants honor the assigned table number that each registrant has received. If a registrant discovers seating assignment discrepancies please notify registration or event staff immediately for assistance.

Can I switch tables?

What if someone at my table is not at their assigned table?
Unless you purchased all 10 seats at your table there will be other attendees assigned to your table. If there is someone at your table that is assigned elsewhere please notify registration immediately so that the Event Staff or Event Security can help find the correct table for anyone not at their assigned table

Is the TexMex Funk FanFest & Expo, Shelly’s Showcase, David Farias Conjuntazzo, Showtime Karaoke with Javier Molina Workshops, Tejano Dance Instruction and the Dances included in my convention and EXPO
 tradeshow registration or is there an additional fee?
There is no additional cost for the activities throughout the day (TejanoExperience USA Expo, Dance Instruction, Workshops, etc.) as they are automatically included with your convention and EXPO tradeshow registration.

I only want to attend the dances in the evening and not the day events – does the cost change?
The convention and EXPO tradeshow registration fee is all inclusive of events (day and evening) and does not change should you only want to attend the evening portions.

FOOD, BEVERAGES, CAMERAS, DANCING & DRESS CODE

Can I bring my own outside drinks to any of the Vegas Tejano Music Week Events (including Convention EXPO and dance)?
No – you may not bring outside beverages into the official events of Vegas Tejano Music Week 2018. All official events (day and evening) will have food and beverages available to purchase at the event.

Are video cameras allowed?
Yes – registrants are responsible for all possessions including handbags, phones, glasses, etc. Event management is not responsible for lost or stolen items. No professionally recording devices are allowed.

Will any food be served?
All venues will have a variety of food and beverage concessions available for purchase.

Is there dancing allowed?
YES! Please wear comfortable dancing shoes as most people who love to dance will get a good workout. It is also advised that if you do not dance regularly or have any special health conditions – please consult your doctor before the Convention and EXPO tradeshow to ensure you have a safe and positive experience (as with any physical activity).

Is there a dress code?
No dress code is required. Most people dress in country western style or cocktail after-hours attire. This is a family atmosphere and we want you to be comfortable. In past year’s we have been so impressed by couples who coordinate well and individuals who are Tejano fashion trend makers.

SPECIAL NEEDS AND CHILDREN

Can I bring my children?
Yes! We encourage families to enjoy this special event. All attendees under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children who are 12 years of age and under may be admitted at no additional cost but those who are 13 years of age and older must be registered for the Convention and EXPO tradeshow. Please note that alcoholic beverages are offered at all event locations. The Tejano Music National Convention and all event vendors are in
compliance with Nevada alcohol laws. It is our goal to make the Tejano experience available and safe for our attendees and their families and we respectfully ask that discretion be used when making decisions involving minors.

Do you have a special area for people in wheelchairs?
All venue spaces are in compliance with and follow regulations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ballroom floor configuration, large IMAG screens, state-of-the-art sound system, wide isles and round table seating help to ensure each registrant a positive experience.
